2018 Acura TLX World Debut: Acura Boasts Sportiness and Improved Technology [News]

On March 28th, 2017 Acura gave us a teaser image of the all new 2018 Acura TLX. They promised a full reveal on April 11th, 2017 and that is what we got. Introducing the 2018 Acura TLX. Acura boasts, “aggressive, sporty design, and new technology features” but we will unpack that a little to find out what is different about the 2018 model.

Inspired by the Acura Precision Concept, the Japanese automaker says that this car has a more sporty and aggressive look. However, they hope to compliment this new sporty design with an equally sporty chassis and powertrain. There are three different trim levels on the 2018 Acura TLX. First is the 2.4-liter i-VTEC inline-4 cylinder which is the standard configuration on this car. Following this is the V6 TLX which adds, you guessed it, a V6 engine as well as dual square tip exhaust and standard 18-inch wheels. Finally, there is the V6 TLX A-Spec. This being the highest performance model, the A-Spec comes with a different front fascia, round LED fog lights, new side sills, a rear diffuser that comes with round dual-exhaust tips and a gloss black decklid spoiler. Additionally, the A-Spec receives dark finish 19-inch wheels fitted with 245-series tires as well as a sport-tuned suspension with stiffer damper settings and retuned electric power steering.

Acura has yet to release any information on power output or pricing. However, they have said that the 2018 Acura TLX is set to go on sale in June, so you should certainly expect to be seeing those figures shortly. While you wait, why not see a sneak peek preview of the 2017 Acura MDX Hybrid, which Roman got to drive recently. Watch the full video below:
