2018 Will see Continued Production of GT350 and GT350R [News]

April 17, 2017 is National Mustang day, so Ford took this day as an opportunity to make a significant announcement. They announced that the Shelby GT350 and GT350R will see production continue through 2018. The GT350 siblings represent the most track capable Mustangs available from Ford, and given their limited production and rarity, this could be big news for those who have been trying to get their hands on one for some time.

For those not in the know about the GT350 siblings, this car features a 5.2-liter V8 engine which makes 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the 5.0L Mustang GT’s engine, this V8 has a flat plane crank, allowing for a redline of 8200 RPMs. However, unlike the current year, this 2018 model will come with the option of three additional colors: Orange Fury, Kona Blue and Lead Foot Gray. Otherwise, the car will remain unchanged from the 2017 model.

We were fortunate enough to have spent a little time with this vehicle. To see how this naturally aspirated V8 performs at a mile above sea-level, be sure to watch the video below:
