Perhaps the best example of “wait, they still make that?” on this list, the Lancer has met its maker as of August 2017. Originally introduced to the U.S. in 2001 to replace the Mirage, this car enjoyed decent sales around its launch. However, the relentless march of time and an aging platform has left the Lancer languishing at the back of the pack. Sales for this model have plummeted in recent years, and Mitsubishi is pivoting toward the more profitable crossover market. To that end, the Lancer has bowed out to make way for the new-for-2018 Eclipse Cross.
