• All-New Aston Martin Vantage: A Bargain at $150,000 [News]

“Porsche. Ferrari. Move Aside. Aston Martin is back!” – Andy Palmer, Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. CEO

The new Vantage —targeted to compete directly with Porsche and Ferrari — is off to a flying start. The British carmaker began selling their newest model just a few days ago and most of the production has already been sold for the year. Bloomberg reports 80 percent of the entire production planned for 2018 has already been bought.

With a starting price of $150,000, the new Vantage undercuts the older V12 model by more than $36,000 — enough chump change to buy a pre-owned 3 Series as a daily driver.

“What we’ve tried to do with Vantage makes it aspirationally younger, cooler, better,” said Palmer.

The Vantage is the second of seven cars that is part of Aston Martin’s second century plan. Its 503 horsepower, 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 makes this sports coupe a lighter, more-focused vehicle than the DB11. And with that power, Aston tells us to expect 0-60 times to be around 3.6 seconds and a top speed around 195 MPH.

Aston Martin is planning to deliver the new Vantage to customers in the second quarter of 2018.

    1. I dont know what to say really, if I was on a fence I might land on my groin. The car is nice but these cars need to bring more HP and good accoustics if they want to be taken seriously. So I dont risk my groin I have to say, I think if your still building new vehicles and you have not adopted electric drive your going to fail. 80% of what. 8 of ten cars is not much or is it 8000 out 10,000. I look at the Tesla model S, comparable to a civic for 30 grand and its simple low maintenance and does 0-60 in 5s. Bollinger and Workhorse have trucks said to do 0-60 in 4.5s. Actually the Tesla sedan they have now beats this car. Cheaper EV cars are coming and in AWD that are going to embarrass these hyper car owners. I dont predict a good future for these cars, not unless they jump on the EV train. There will always be a market for them but it will be a smaller and smaller market that will dwindle down to very small profits. Just thinking out loud.
