It May Cost How Much? 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pricing Potentially Leaked [Video]

Our friends over at JL Wrangler Forums got their hands on what a user claims to be “what FCA sent to its LA show reps”. The user who posted these results claims to have gotten them from a rep at the 2017 LA Auto Show. In this video, Tommy, our resident Jeep expert breaks down the 2018 Jeep Wrangler pricing guide, and compares it to the pricing of the previous generation, JK Wrangler.

The user who posted this information made a spreadsheet of the documents that they received from FCA. So how does this compare to the previous generation Wrangler? Things are getting significantly more expensive:

2018 Jeep Wrangler Pricing: 2-Door JL
Sport – $26,195 ($2,200 more than 2017 JK)
Sport S – $29,095 ($2,100 more than 2017 JK)
Rubicon – $36,395 ($2,750 more than 2017 JK)

2018 Jeep Wrangler Pricing: 4-Door JLU
Sport – $29,995 ($2,100 more than 2017 JKU)
Sport S – $33,195 ($2,100 more than 2017 JKU)
Sahara – $36,995 ($2,700 more than 2017 JKU)
Rubicon – $40,195 ($2,750 more than 2017 JKU)

Across the board, there is a $2,000 price hike at minimum. With the Rubicons costing almost $3,000 more than the previous generation.

Price hikes are to be expected with a new generation. However, this may be a bit more of an increase than some folks were expecting.

Towing

With the information about pricing also came some towing figures for the 2.0L turbo four-cylinder and the 3.6L Pentastar V6.

The two door Wrangler, with either engine, will tow 2,000 lbs. The four door, with either engine, will tow 3,500 lbs. Towing figures have not been released for the diesel, but hopefully that will come with a slightly better towing figure.

Fuel Economy

The last important bit of information to come from this leaked document is MPG number for the 2.0L turbo four-cylinder and the 3.6L Pentastar V6. The 2.0L gets 21 city and 24 highway, regardless of whether or not you get the two door or four door.

The V6 gets 18 city, 23 highway in both the two and four door options. Again, Jeep has not released any information about the diesel model.

Power

The 2.0L turbo four-cylinder makes a respectable 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The 3.6L Pentastar V6 makes 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both engines send power to all four wheels through your choice of a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic.

Be sure to watch the whole video to hear what Tommy has to say about this information. Remember that FCA has not officially confirmed any of this information just yet. While the information seems reputable, we cannot say whether or not it is the truth about the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Special thanks once again to the guys at JL Wrangler Forums!
