The Toyota Camry is typically a pretty sedate family sedan. But what happens when you add a silky smooth V6, sports tuned suspension and big Toyota Racing Development wheels?

I like Suzuki.
For me, they represent an ever evolving automaker (who makes killer
motorcycles) that has some big dreams. Stars in their eyes they have;
focusing on an expanding future is their determined mantra. Around the
world, Suzuki is well respected for high quality machines. America has
yet to accept that point of view.
Say it with me: Key-xash-che – it means, “something good is coming.”

Toyota is perhaps the most conservative automaker in the world, and the Toyota Avalon is certainly the most conservative car that Toyota makes.
It defines the terms "old school" or "your father's Buick."
On the plus side the Avalon is everything you would want a big luxurious car to be...especially if your definition of a luxury car was formed during the seventies.

It isn’t often (OK, maybe never) the price of a luxury car gets
reduced by several thousand dollars. But that’s what Mercedes-Benz did
with 2010 models, including the E550. But Mercedes-Benz not only
lowered it prices, it did so with a re-designed vehicle, not the staid
offerings of yesteryear.
The E550 five-passenger sedan is the prime example of how the German
manufacturer is attempting to retrieve former Mercedes owners who may
have opted for more trendy and less expensive luxury sedans in recent
years.

Is the Lexus GS 350 a sports sedan or a luxury sedan?
In other words, was Lexus able to combine oil and water or (in automotive terms) sports and luxury?

Let’s be honest here, Buick has not had the best of decades.
OK, the staid General Motors brand did survive this year unlike Pontiac, Hummer and perhaps Saab, but that doesn’t mean it is out of the woods…not by a long shot.
Sure in China Buick is one of the up-and-coming brands that hundreds of millions “yet to be wealthy enough to buy a Buick” Chinese long after, but that’s little comfort in the U.S. where Buick’s recent no longer golf playing pitchman apparently drives (and poorly at that) a Cadillac Escalade.

It wasn't too many
years ago $30,000 was the beginning price point for a luxury vehicle.
Now, $40,000 is the standard, and that's where the Acura TL has been
perched for the past several years. The TL debuted with the 1996 model,
was redesigned in 2004 and for 2009 has its third generation. Like
previous models, the current edition is all good with the vehicle's
largest engine to date and a good selection of other new additions.

Have you ever followed a small local band that eventually hit the big time?
Perhaps you were one of the first fans of that Rock band that today is selling out stadiums around the world.
Do you still like their music?
Is it the same as when you first heard them at some small club in the big city?
Think of Subaru as that band. While the rest of the automotive industry was in free fall (for most of this year) Subaru actually managed to do the unthinkable. The small Japaneses car company increased sales.

The guy next to me in the supermarket parking lot caught my attention and said in a deep European accent: "Is that the BMW diesel? I didn't know you could get it in the States?" He was right — until now. The 2009 335d is BMW's first 50-state-legal diesel. Imagine that — a diesel sports sedan.

What’s more out of place than listening to old-school punk rock using a powerful 11-speaker Harman Kardon stereo in a Buick?
Liking it.
I’ve never been much of a Buick fan as they tend to represent the
doldrums of later life. I didn’t want to like this machine. But I did –
just a bit. It has a sleek body (but, it’s a Buick) excellent fit and
finish (but, it’s a Buick), excellent feature list (still, it’s a
Buick) good handling (remember: it’s a Buick!) and all wheel drive.

The 21st Century Continental series Bentley has been a smashing success. In the process of selling over 27,000 coupes, sedans, and convertibles it has established and defined a market niche.
The Conti’s potent combination of hand worked, sybaritic luxury for four pampered occupants and twelve-cylinder, 552hp punch, harnessed by all-wheel drive, make it the answer to the question of which single vehicle would be best to own.

‘Good Looks Count for a Lot!’
I still remember my knee-jerk
reaction to the Saturn Ion 4-door a few years back. It was one of those
times that I wanted to say, “Well, I’m sure it has a great
personality.” Nearly every automaker is guilty of producing some
hideous machines that they call, “avant-garde,” while the rest of us look for the ugly stick used to beat it into shape.

Jaguar bet the farm on the newest XF.
After a 10-years-of building cars like the S and X types that were the equivalent of a bad copy of a copy of a copy, the well regarded car manufacturer had to do something special to put the growl back in the cat.
So is the 2010 Jaguar XF Premium with the new 385HP 5.0L V8 engine the worth the wait?

This sweetheart trips the light fantastic!
Mazda has always
been a utility player in the automotive field. With the exception of
the ridiculous (now discontinued) B-series, mostly-Ford Ranger pickup
truck, all of their vehicles are very competitive. It’s not a question
of individual preference, as many automotive periodicals sign the
praises of Mazda.
