Bevery Hills, Calif.—The stunning new 2012 Fisker Karma low-slung sedan looks like a futuristic experimental car. Moreover, it’s a “green” gas/electric plug-in model with a fairly long driving range.
I found the Karma to be a head-turner at a media preview of it on a variety of Los Angeles area roads. No wonder actor Leonardo DiCaprio bought one of the first ones, following the old Hollywood tradition of stars driving the most coveted cars.
The approximately $104,000 Karma feels solid as a rock and is beautifully assembled, inside and out, although the low front end can be damaged by moderately high curbs if a driver isn’t careful. And the standard eco-friendly dashboard material looks rather odd. (Leather is optional, and a Fisker Automotive spokesman say most order the car with it.)

The 2012 Fisker Karma Plug-in Hybrid is like no other car on this earth. It is stunningly beautiful, very expensive, and if you plug it in every night and don't drive over 40 miles, it can also be very green.
It is the first green luxury sports sedan that is solely propelled only by two electric motors. Of course the Karma also has a gasoline engine to charge up the battery when the juice gets low so you can drive it about 300 miles on a tank full like a traditional car.
The Karma is also very big and very heavy. At over 5000 pounds it owns the road (and it should) because it costs a little bit over 100K. Check out our first drive review below.

Who says that expensive luxury cars can't be environmentally friendly?
Certainly not Fisker.
The new U.S. premium car manufacturer recently debuted two new models at the Chicago Auto Show.
OK, so the Fisker Karma isn't all that new, but this is the first time the Fisker Karma Sunset is on public display. In Chicago right next to Karma you'll find the jet black and new Fisker Karma Sunset convertible, which is about as sexy as it gets for a plug-in hybrid.
