As the 2009 North American Car of the Year, the Hyundai Genesis may be the most unheralded car to win the honor. Still, many critics have bombarded it with hard-to-dispute praise. Without its badge and without what ever stigma remains against Korean cars, the Genesis is nearly as luxurious and nearly as unmistakable as its Lexus and Acura competitors.

A very few chromosomes make the difference between two very
different species of animals. Likewise, there are very few parts that
change an ordinary 2010 Volkswagen Golf into a 2010 Volkswagen GTI,
enough so that although the Golf and the GTI share body, suspension
layout and other major elements--and from a far enough distance the two
look the same--Volkswagen doesn't refer to the GTI a high performance
version of the Golf. It's just "GTI".

More than 40 years after it made its debut
as a muscle car competitor to the Ford Mustang, the Chevrolet Camaro
re-emerged in the spring of 2009 as a 2010 model after a several-year
hiatus from manufacturer’s lineup. The Camaro is available with V6 or
V8 engines and in five trims, all of which attract immediate attention.
The rejuvenated, fifth-generation Camaro resembles the Mustang in
design. But it simultaneously brings the long-standing coupe a new,
modern identity and retaining the good and bad traits from its now
middle-aged history and reputation.

I staggered out of the hospital's emergency room to the arctic white Mercedes-Benz E350 coupe at about 4:40 a.m. after being poked and ultra sounded for about 3 hours.
The diagnoses: I was having a gallbladder attack due to a gallbladder stone stuck in my bile duct.
Until about two hours ago I didn't even know I had a bile duct, but now this little internal appendage is causing me so much pain I'm seriously considering sticking a sharp knife into my left side to balance out the pain in my right side.

Try to name a rear-drive, turbocharged coupe sold in North America for less than 30K.
Not too many are there?
An awful lot of people who have written about this car never actually drove the thing. Seriously! Not to worry, I drove the crap out of my tester and have the smile-lines (and photos) to prove it.

Mother of god…
Guys were blowing kisses, sounding
wolf whistles, winking and giving their overwhelmingly enthusiastic
thumbs-up. Girls too, were displaying amorous looks, mock kisses and
“grrrr” sounds. People of all ages were showing their approval in most
unusual ways.
Not for me – for the CAMARO!

The Honda Civic is among the most common vehicles on the road. With its sibling the Accord, it's an automotive industry version of a comfortable recliner in your living room. It's not fancy, but you know what you're getting and you like it.
With the 2009, Honda Civic Si, however, what ever staid, plain or other non-sexy thoughts you might have about the Honda Civic, forget them. The refreshed Civic Si, first introduced in 2006, has morphed into a sports car.

The statement “a beautiful German car” is no longer an oxymoron.
This
car inspires me to find a smoking jacket, brandy and a leather easy
chair while regaling others with my past exploits. The Audi A5 smolders
in its sophistication, smooth demeanor and wolverine-like grip on
tarmac. I dare say, the Audi A5 is disarmingly handsome.

Let's face facts, like beautiful people, beautiful cars are just treated better.
I
recently did an internet search for used Ferraris, and discovered that
you'd be hard pressed to find a 5-year-old car with over 50 thousand
miles. It seems that most Ferrari owners tend to baby their cars,
admire them lovingly from afar, and keep them parked in the garage for
that special summer day when the stars and moon align for a gentle
drive in the country.
I suspect the Vantage V8 I drove will never
see snow or even much rain. Which is probably a good thing because I
believe this car would handle like a goat on ice given even the
slightest bit of snow between it at the massive 275/35 high performance (don't even think about ice or snow) rear tires.

If James Bond had a son, there is no doubt this is the car he'd drive.
With
an as tested sticker price of just under $150,000, it is a full
$123,000 cheaper than James Bond's Aston Martin DBS, and not much
slower with "only" 420 horsepower versus the bigger brother's 510
horsepower DBS.
But would James Bond Jr. be willing to spend the equivalent of five drop top Minis, or eight Honda's Fits for one V8 Vantage?
Let's find out.
