Ford unveils new 2012 Taurus based Police Interceptor

For almost ever the classic police car was a Ford based on the Crown Victoria.

That's always been the car that's brought the biggest lump in a speeding drivers heart when sighted in the rear view mirror, but not any longer.

The newest purpose-built 2012 Police Interceptor by Ford will now be based on the 2010 Taurus.

It will come with two different engines:

Check out this very strange video of Aston Martin's new four passenger/door Rapide.

While the car is certainly a much better looker than the Porsche Panamera, the video doesn't really highlight the car's better side.

Now we admit that this top five list of most enduring automotive maintenance myths is a bit one sided as it was put together by Ford, but then again who would know better about enduring maintenance myths than a company that builds and services millions of car per year?

New Ford 2011 Mustang V-6 first car with 300+ HP and 30+ mpg

The folks at Ford are justifiably proud of their upcoming new V-6 Mustang (very similar to the 5.0 pictured above) which has now official become the first first production car to crack the 300 HP and 30 mpg barrier.

OK, to be honest we didn't even know that there a was barrier until today's Ford press release (see below)

But never-the-less in a world where muscle cars are usually synonymous with gas guzzlers we have to tip our hat to Ford for building a 300 HP car that get's such impressive gas mileage.

No really: Lease a Tesla Roadster for as litlle as $1,658 per month for 3 years and 30K miles

Let's face it even the wealthy early adapters may think twice about buying an all electric two-seater sports car that starts at about $109,000.00.

Of course if you want the fancier Tesla Roadster Sport you'll more likely spend up to $156,000.00.

But why buy when you can lease?

$38,020---The cost of the Raptor (in other words about $16,000 more than the base F-150)

$21,820---The cost of the base F-150

14 mpg city/18 mpg highway---The Raptor's 'old school" EPA gas mileage.

Video: Aston Martin Rapide takes on the roads and parking garages of Valencia

We're not sure which is more elegant: the car or the photography of this video that shows off the new Aston Martin Rapide in the parking garages and roads of Valencia.

The Rapide sports a massive 6.0-liter V12 engine and should easy go from 0 to 60 mph un around 5 seconds providing some interesting completion to the new Porsche Panamera.
