Papa John’s Camaro found means free pizza for Camaro owners

Comaro

In in 1983 John Schnatter, the founder of Papa John's Pizza, sold a gold-and-black 1971 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 for $2,800.

He used some of the money to start what would become a worldwide pizza business.

After searching far and near for the car, he recently bought his beloved Camaro back for a quarter of a million dollars, sort of.

Actually Schnatter set up a web site to help find his car and offered a $250,00 reward to get the car back.

In almost 30-years the car didn't go all that far from Schnatter according to the Associated Press:

"It turns out he didn't have to leave Kentucky, where the pizza chain is based in Louisville. The car only changed hands twice from the original buyers, ending up with Jeffery Robinson in Flatwoods, about 165 miles to the east."

When I first saw it I still wanted to look it over to make sure it was the car even though I knew it," Schnatter told The Associated Press. "That kind of hit me emotionally. I was kind of numb."

To help celebrate the return of his car Schnatter plans on giving free
pizzas to all Camaro owners at his Papa John's restaurants on Wednesday.
