Is it a bird?

Is it a car or is it a plane?

The Terrafugia Transition is not world's first flying car but it might just be the one that actually takes off as a real business venture.

The FAA has just granted an exemption which lets the 1,440-pound car (or is it aircraft) hybrid to fly
under a "light sport" designation.

Which means that for just about $200,000 you too will able to either drive or fly to work depending on which license you hold.

And at least on the ground, you'll also have all of the latest safety equipment including airbags and crumple zones.

The Terrafugia Transition was invented by an MIT graduate and is expected to be ready for your to fly/drive/buy sometime late next year.
