Think of the new 2010 Ford Focus ST as the local kid who was went to Europe for year of school and finally comes back home to the U.S. all cool and totally hip with the latest European fashions.

Because while the  Ford Focus ST debuted today in Paris it will come home as a 2012 model and that’s a really good thing as the car has Ford’s new turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine with 247 horsepower.

But that’s not all. The Focus ST also has an impressive:

  • 266 pound-feet of torque
  • Ford’s new torque-vectoring power control system
  • a six-speed manual transmission
  • 19-inch alloys
  • and of curse the crazy “in your face” Orange paint.

Sure there will also be a bigger and faster “big brother” version of the Focus that Europeans have long had which you probably know as the RS.

But for now the new Ford Focus ST looks like a winner, and one that we’ll actually be able to buy on our side of the pond as it is part of Ford’s new global vision.

Check out the World wide debut of the new Ford Focus from this year’s Detroit Auto Show below.
