2011 Chicago Auto Show debut: the Acura TL is is no longer visually challenged

Acura

Acura listened to critics and re-chiseled the hard edges of the new 2012 TL. Now it looks more like your Dad’s Acura. But also look for better fuel economy and a revised interior.

Acura engineers managed to reduce internal friction and increased the mileage to 20 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. That’s an increase of three miles per gallon on the highway over the 2010 car.

“The 2012 Acura TL is refined, yet aggressive,” said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. “Already known for its great performance, the enhanced TL has a sophisticated new look and an all-new 6-speed automatic transmission that will take performance to the next level.”

BTW: You can read our review of the current TL HERE.

In a statement Acura says, “The 2012 TL’s refined new look includes a redesigned front bumper with improved aerodynamics, a revised grille, updated headlights and turn signals, a new fog light design and a shorter front overhang. At the rear, a new rear bumper incorporates a significantly repositioned license plate opening and smaller rear reflectors, while updated taillights and a thinner rear trunk edge trim add to a sophisticated new look.”

We say it looks softer and gentler like it just got back from a weekend at the spa.
