The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 will reach a top speed of 175-miles per hour, but it only took about 2 mph for it to roar onto the stage at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show.

According to Dodge the new top dog Charger SRT8 is the most technologically sophisticated car that they have ever built.

Not only does the 2012 Charger SRT8 packs a 465-horsepower, 6.4-liter Hemi V8 that produces 465 hp and 465 lb.-ft. of torque, but it also has a sophisticated new adaptive damping suspension.

The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 also comes with cylinder-deactivation technology that Dodge says will help get better EPA numbers…not yet announced.

Finally the 2012 Charger SRT8 also gets lightweight 20-inch wheels, plus a cool reverse hood scoop that helps push hot air out of the engine bay.

TFLcar.com was there when the new Charger roared onto the stage at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show, and we got a chance to speak with the car’s chief engineer, and even had the opportunity to listen to the Charger’s new engine.
