Video: Eminem Chrysler 200 Super Bowl commercial touts the virtues of Detroit

Super Bowl commercials are often funny, nostalgic and certainly campy, but the Eminem Chrysler 200 Super Bowl commercial which introduced the Chrysler brand new tag-line “Imported from Detroit” was not only long (two minutes) but about as moving as Super Bowl commercials get.

In the commercial a narrator touts the virtues of Detroit while Eminem drives the new Chrysler 200 to the Fox Theater where he proclaims, “This is the Motor City and this is what we do,” while pointing to the camera.

“The new tag-line was created to convey the message that one does not have to cross an ocean to obtain luxury, it’s available right here,” said  Olivier Francois, President and CEO, Chrysler Brand and Lead Executive for Marketing, Chrysler Group LLC.

“The Chrysler brand, the company and its employees have adopted the principle that failure is not an option,” Francois added.
