Toyota/Scion have been hush-hush about any plans of building a pickup truck for the economically fun, and occasionally irreverent, Scion division. Well, never asked. If the photo of this first generation xB is any indication of what one could look like – – – we scratch our collective chins in speculation.
Oh, and your eyes do not deceive you – there ARE three exhaust pipes stick out of the back. That means it’s three times AWE-SOM-ER! Right?
Roman Mica (TFLCar.com Emperor) is on a fact-finding mission in China and could not resist shooting this photo when he was in Hong Kong. Apparently, McDonalds in Hong Kong is delicious. I guess when other tourists took pictures of shrines and architecture while chewing on local fare – Roman is shooting photos of cars while masticating on Le-Big-Mac.’
This does bring up an interesting point: why not build a small, cheap, fun pickup for the Scion brand? Chop up a RAV4 or Matrix, graph a pickup bed on the back, drop in a “thumpin’” stereo and well-lah! Instant Scion pickup truck. You could call it the xP. It could have have three variants: the xP “Pee-diddy” which is the FWD base model, the xP “Punk-master-flex” which comes with AWD and the xP “Poser-Federline” which comes pre-lowered.
I bet by now you’re already sending a request to Toyota to build one – right?
