Video review: the 2012 Passat is now a bigger better Americanized German sedan

The 2012 Volkswagen Passat is now a bigger, better and built in America. The new Americanized German sedan is much larger than the old model and now comes with three engine choices including a 2.0L turbo diesel option.

Perhaps most interesting of all is that the new base model Passat will start at just about $20,000.

Volkswagen spent one billion dollars to build a new state of the art car factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee where the 2012 American Passat is now being built. The new car will hit your local VW showroom in the fall of this year as a 2012 model.

So is the 2012 VW Passat now as American as Wonder Bread and ready to take on  the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry? Roman Mica recently had the chance to drive the 2012 Passat from the factory in Chattanooga to Nashville and filed this first drive video review:
