2012 Scion iQ to start at $15,995…batteries not included

Scion has just announced the very tiny 2012 iQ will start at $15,995.

The smallest Scion will be launched in phases around the U.S. with the West Coast getting the car first and the Midwest last.

BTW: Why is it that the Midwest is always left out in the cold on these phased car intros? Could it be the cold, or don't car makers believe that people in cities like Chicago have an interest in their newest products.

At any rate, the microscopic iQ looks like it should be powered by batteries, but don't be fooled by the looks.

The newest Scion is a traditional car…at least when it comes to the powertrain.

No word yet on the EPA numbers, but look for Prius like EPA numbers…if certainly not Prius like interior room.
