Prototype Hunting: In search of car spy photos @ 14,000 ft above sea level

Photo 3

Car manufacturers and journalist often play a cat and mouse game when it comes to snapping photos of prototype cars on public roads before the new cars are officially introduced at the world’s auto shows.

But did you know that many international car manufactures bring their cars to the Colorado Rockies for high altitude testing.

In this video we go in search of new prototype spy photos of cars in Colorado at 14,000 ft above sea level.

This week we got lucky and captured both Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen prototype cars testing on some of the highest roads in the world in the Colorado Mountians.

What prototype cars did we capture high altitude testing?

We’re not sure because many of the cars are well disquised, but the photo above could be of the new and upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLC or CLA. Check out the video below for more spy photos of Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen cars from around the world including the VW Polo, Lavidat, and Vento along with the new Mercedes-Benz A and B class cars.
