The brand new 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid gets 45 MPG combined, according to VW, while the current generation of the iconic Toyota Prius gets 50 MPG combined according to the EPA.
So if you are considering buying a hybrid car the Prius is the clear winner…at least when it comes to fuel economy.
But of course fuel efficiency is not the only criteria that new car buyers use to purchase a new car.

Curiously, the city of Santa Fe, New Mexico is even higher than Boulder and Denver, Colorado – the places where we most often test vehicle’s 0 to 60 mph times. Santa Fe, NM is 7,260 feet in elevation whereas Denver, CO is 5,280 and Boulder, CO is 5,430. As we usually note, those elevations lower horsepower in internal combustion engines.
