Audi gives the 2014 Audi R8 V10 more schnell

The new Audi R8 V10 Plus is better than before!
I didn’t think that was possible.

Audi’s newly developed seven-speed S tronicĀ® transmission is available for the 2014 Audi R8 V10. Using this setup gives the R8 0.3 seconds faster 0 to 60 mph times and, according to Audi, “Equipped with the S tronic, it catapults from zero to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 196 mph.”

Nice.

The R8 V8 represents one of the most engaging and easy to drive sportscars out there. So, considering the R8 V10 represented one of the best supercars to drive, imagine what the R8 V10 Plus represents.

“At the top of the range is the new R8 V10 Plus with 550 horsepower and 398 lb.-ft. of torque. Equipped with the S tronic, it catapults from zero to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 196 mph. It weighs approximately 100 lbs. less than the R8 V10 due to utilizing carbon fiber side blades, front splitter, rear diffuser, spoiler; a smaller fuel tank; manual AlcantaraĀ® seats and ceramic brakes.

To further enhance the Audi R8 design, several aesthetic adjustments are added throughout the vehicle. Some of the most noticeable changes are the newly structured LED headlights that are now standard on all models, the hexagonal SingleframeĀ® grille, new side mirrors and the large, round tailpipe trims are the most obvious elements. The rear lights of all models include the innovative dynamic turn signals.

The Audi R8 V10 with the S tronic completes the 0-60 mph sprint in 3.4 seconds and generates 525 horsepower with 391 lb.-ft. of torque. It has a top speed of 195 mph. The Audi R8 V8 FSIĀ® produces 430 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque. In combination with the seven-speed S tronic, it accelerates the R8 V8 from zero to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 186 mph.

All Audi R8 models have the option of the gated 6-speed manual transmission or the S tronic transmission. The Audi R8 Spyder is available with the V8 and V10 engine. The R8 V10 Plus is available as a coupe only.” – – Audi AG

Not too shabby.

Remember: The Audi R8 V8 4.2 FSI Ā makes 430 hp. TheĀ R8 V10 5.2 FSI produces 525 hp and theĀ R8 V10 Plus 5.2 FSI rips out 550 hp.
