2013 Toyota RAV4 0-60 MPH First Drive Review

The 2013 Toyota RAV4 is all new.

The 4th generation of the first and original small crossover now only comes with one engine choice.

Gone is also the option for a third row of seats. Instead Toyota says that the car is now perfect for small families that lead an active lifestyle.

In this exclusive TFLcar video review we find out how fast the new 2013 RAV4 goes from 0-60 MPH.

We also take an in depth look at the new styling direction of the 2013 RAV4 and of course we see if Nathan fits.

Editor’s note: As Roman and I were putting the RAV4 through its paces, we were feeling rather guarded and limited in our usual, juvenile antics. That was due to the Toyota representative that traveled with us. That’s not to say the passenger was unwanted, she was a nice lady, but we felt a bit limited as to what we normally do.

This is where press events lead us into unusual territory.

The Fast Lane Car crew works its ass off when we attend these events. It’s usually Roman or I and sometimes both. We have a method, a practiced and perfected style that requires we use all of the available driving time to get everything from quotes, B-roll (film footage that fills in the empty spaces) stills, actions shots and fill every bit with as much information as we car.

All this while making it fun to view.

So, when there’s an extra passenger or two, we have to work around them. Every once in a while, you’ll see someone in one of our clips you don’t recognize. If we don’t mention them, it’s probably because they work with the automaker’s PR.
