2014 Volkswagen Scirocco R Quick Take 0-60 MPH Review

The 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco R is a hot-hatch that is not sold in the United States any longer.

However VW decided to give a few lucky automotive journalist a bit of the forbidden fruit when they brought the car to Napa Valley, California for a test drive in the United States.

In another fun and informative TFLcar review Nicole and Roman get behind the wheel of the 2014 VW Scirocco to see just what we in the States are missing.

The answer is an awesome hot hatch that drives like it is ready to burn up the autobahn or the highway.

So how fast is the 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco R  from 0-60 MPH. You’ll have to watch this video to find out.

    1. A really hot car, isn´t it? But I like the new Golf GTI better ( your review of the 2015 Golf GTI is awesome btw.), because you´ve got a 100% practical car for everyday driving that allows to kick all the big block V8´s in the as, LOL. Especially at the gas Station, LOL!!!

    2. Actually, the Scirocco R is based on the Golf R, not the GTI. The only major difference is the Scirocco R does not have all wheel drive.

And by the way, if Roman loves the Scirocco R so much, why did he seem so unimpressed with the Golf R? Can loosing 10 hp while crossing the pond really make Roman such a hater? 🙂

This is what I have been waiting for, the perfect “Beauty and the Beast” combo driving a really interesting road tourer, and making an interesting and informative video. Thank you, do more of these videos but add a comment as to the ease of a 6’2″ man entering and exiting the vehicle.

    4. Interesting the euro/us price differential isn’t mentioned. Using a Euro price to determine what it costs here is WRONG. Take a box stock 2013 VW Gti 2 door in Germany and it is $38kUSD. The same exact 2013 GTi is $25kUSD in the US. The euro price ALWAYS includes taxes we don’t pay. The box stock Scirocco R is $47kUSD in Germany, so if you extrapolate the US price from the GTI ratio you get $31kUSD. The R will sell fine here for the low 30’s.
