It takes a very special customer to step outside of Mercedes-Benz’s in-house tuning division, AMG, for a little extra oomph under the hood of their vehicle. Especially when their car is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550, a 449-horsepower behemoth already capable of blazing 0-60 times. But for that discerning, speed-addicted customer, behold the 850-horsepower Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo iBusiness, set to debut next week at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show.

Yes, 850 horsepower is correct. No typos. The S600’s 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 gets a makeover at the hands of Brabus technicians, receiving a strengthened engine block, larger bores, and reworked cylinders. And the turbos receive a larger compressor unit for maximum boost pressure, leaving torque at a healthy 848 lb.-ft. Brabus claims that if not electronically limited, this torque number would be closer to 1100 lb.-ft., but at the expense of the car’s reliability. A tuned version of AMG’s 7-speed MCT unit makes the cut in this new Brabus product. The car uses its massive power to make a 0-60 run of 3.5 seconds, a full half-second faster than the S63 AMG, before reaching an Aventador-like top speed of 217 mph.

Why the “iBusiness” moniker? The entire vehicle’s entertainment and productivity systems are controlled via Apple iPad, present in its own special holder in the back seat of the car. Using the technology, passengers can create Wi-Fi hotspots and manage everything from music playlists to climate control. A larger 15.2-inch display is connected to the on-board Mac mini, complete with 64 GB of hard drive storage, making this Brabus-tuned S-class the ultimate mobile office.

Also improved on the performance front is a dual-mode exhaust system with sport and standard driving settings controlled by electronically-deployed valves. High-quality brakes (most likely carbon-ceramic), a revised front fascia with LED running lamps and new air scoops, and air suspension are all rumored to be features on this super S-class.
