Audi is doubling down on the diesel technology in United States with introduction of several new TDI powered vehicles. This 2014 Audi A8L TDI is one of these cars. It retains all the luxuries of the A8. It’s available in short wheel base and this long “L” model. The 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel is quite, clean, and very torquey. EPA rates this car at 28 MPG combined. We saw nearly 29 MPG average and up to 41 MPG on highway only runs. Impressive.

FYI. There is some confusion about the model year for the refreshed A8. The facelifted A8 with the new Matrix LED lights will be a 2015 model year for United States. So this this A8 is still a 2014. The 2015 Audi A8 will be available in the later part of 2014.
