The Nissan Sentra Nismo Concept harks back to the SE-R Awesomeness

NISSAN NORTH AMERICA SENTRA NISMO CONCEPT

Dear Nissan: please, please, please build the Nissan Sentra Nismo Concept you just unveiled at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show! Sporting a beefy 240 horsepower, four-cylinder engine bolted to a six-speed manual transmission – the brain-trust at Nissan wants to show the potential for the (normally) mild-mannered Sentra. It looks good too.

Nissan also announced a revised continuously variable transmission (CVT) for the regular Nissan Sentra. According to Nissan, the new CVT is sportier and more rewarding to use. Hopefully they are hearing the performance-hungry consumers out there.

Back to the Nissan Sentra Concept: it looks the part – big time. Remember the Nissan Juke Nismo design? Bingo – that’s what the Nissan Sentra Nismo Concept looks like. The 19-inch wheels look like they came off other Nismo products of the past, but they certainly do wake up the sleepy looks of the regular Sentra. Nestled under the 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels resides red Brembo brake calipers.

The design is finished off boy-racer-style with fat fenders, smoked-out lights and beefy, dual exhaust tips.

There are only a few details available at the moment, but I have it on good word that, if consumer reaction is positive, the Nissan Sentra Nismo Concept could be a reality shortly. I hope so. I had fond memories of the Senter SE and SE-R.

I will be keeping an eye on this one folks –
