Video: 0-60 MPH Towing test with 2014 Lexus LX570 – Can it Beat QX56?

2014 lexus lx570 towing boat tige

The 2014 Lexus LX570 is one of the best riding, quiet, and off-road capable luxury full-size SUVs.  This time we find out how it does at towing a 5,740 lbs of boat and trailer.  Specifically, we do a 0-60 mph test with and without the boat.  It’s important to know that your tow vehicle can accelerate in a reasonable time to merge on the highway or interstate.  TFLcar performs acceleration testing at a mile above sea level, so the time will be between 1 to 2 seconds slower than at sea level for the vehicle on its own.

The Lexus LX570 competes directly against the Infiniti QX56 (renamed to QX80 for 2014 model year).  The 5.7-liter V8 engine in the Lexus makes 383 hp and 403 lb-ft and backed up by a 6-speed automatic.  The 5.6-liter V8 in the Infiniti is rated at 400 hp and 413 lb-ft with a 7-speed transmission.

Take a look at the 2012 Infiniti QX56 Towing Review.

Can the Lexus beat the 16.53 seconds time that the Infiniti put up?  Watch this to find out:
