Detroit: 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan Means Business

2015 Hyundai Genesis put luxury car makers on notice as it makes its North American debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.  What is all the fuss about?  Well, this second generation Genesis sedan takes the successful formula of the original and refines it.  Hyundai is looking to match competitors at the luxury sport sedan game, but also beat them on value.

What is luxury?  It is design, power, features, and comfort.  Genesis checks all of these boxes.  It’s a stylish car, it brings back the 3.8-liter Lambda V6, and 5.0-liter Tau V8, and the interior looks and feels upscale.  Hyundai will point out that (at 123 cu-ft) the interior of the new Genesis is larger than vehicles like: BMW 5-series, Cadillac CTS, Infiniti M, Lexus GS, and Mercedes-Benz E-class.  The new Genesis will offer AWD, a must in the luxury sedan segment.

There is unofficial word that the 2015 Genesis sedan will start under $40,000, and this is the trump card.

It looks very good on paper and on video, but the true test is the way it drives and handles.  We hope to test the new sedan soon.
