Detroit Video: 2015 Porsche 911 Targa offers a whole new Retractable Hard-top

Porsche-911-Targa

This Porsche takes its name from historic Targa race in Italy.  The 911 won this race more than any other manufacturer.  The Targa design offers both: feeling of topless driving and security, comfort, and rigidity of a coupe.

The 2015 Porsche 911 Targa 4S takes the classic Targa concept to the next level with an automatically retractable hard-top.  Yep, you don’t have to bother and manually remove the roof section.  Let the car do it for you!

Targa 4 features a 350-horsepower, 3.4-liter flat-six engine and a 175 MPH top speed.  0-to-60 sprint comes in at 4.6 seconds. The Targa 4S offers 400 horsepower from the familiar 3.8-liters of displacement, accelerates to 60 in 4.2 seconds and clocks a top speed of 183 mph.

As the “4” suggests, this Porsche comes with all wheel drive.  This would make for an excellent all-weather Colorado car!  However, all this great technology and design comes at a price.  Targa 4 starts at $101,600 and the Targa 4S begins at $116,200 before destination chargers.  The bottom line can go much higher after you add the options.  This car is expected to hit the dealership this summer.

You have to watch this introduction video to see how this unique roof mechanism works.
