Detroit: Check out the KIA GT4 Stinger Concept

Looking nearly production-ready, the KIA GT4 Stinger Concept has a 315 horsepower 2.0-liter engine that spins the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. KIA wanted to make the KIA GT4 Stinger as light as possible and succeeded with a curb-weight of 2,874 lbs. It has the ideal weight distribution of 52 percent front and 48 percent rear.

KIA Design Center America (KDCA) chief Tom Kearns says the KIA GT4 Stinger is a “totally selfish design.”

The KIA GT4 Stinger Concept is not slated for production. Still, with an existing platform like KIA’s sister automaker Hyundai’s Genesis coupe out there, there is room for this car in their fleet. What KIA is hoping to display is a glimpse at their new face. It is a glimpse into their design future.
