Volkswagen Releases Teaser For This Year’s Super Bowl Ad

Volkswagen

Super Bowl XLVII isn’t until Sunday, February 2nd but Volkswagen is already teasing us with a hint of what to expect from their next commercial.

Most of America will be glued to their televisions that Sunday, but a lot of them could care less about who’s playing or who wins. Those are the people, like me, who are really just in it for the commercials. Also, I’m in it for that three-layer taco dip my brother-in-law makes every year. That stuff is awesome.

Volkswagen’s teaser commercial is titled Algorithm and it features, well, just about everything but the kitchen sink. Truthfully, I really have to watch it a few more times before I can say that for sure because it honestly does feature every single thing you see in the usual Super Bowl commercial.

They start the whole thing off with two very straight-laced Volkswagen engineers in a very sterile, white room with a giant grease board full of formulas. It all looks very smart and very complicated until you start taking a good look at those fancy formulas.

Twerking? Puppies? Groin hits? This is what German engineering is using to devise the perfect commercial? No, it’s not. You have to throw in Carmen Electra, a monkey, and a couple of cute babies. And there’s a car in there somewhere, too. Now you’ve got a commercial finely tuned by German engineering.

And here are Roman and Nathan reviewing the 2014 Volkswagen Touareg TDI, without Carmen Electra or cute puppies. Sorry to disappoint.

Nicole Wakelin fell in love with cars as a teenager when she got to go for a ride in a Ferrari. It was red and it was fast and that was all that mattered. Game over. She considers things a bit more carefully now, but still has a weakness for fast, beautiful cars. Nicole also writes for NerdApproved and GeekMom.
