The 2014 Dodge Journey doesn’t receive major changes for the current year, but it does add a brand new model to the lineup. The SE V-6 AWD will be available for a starting price of $24,895 giving potential buyers a way to get into the AWD Journey for $1,800 less than the SXT AWD.
It will come equipped, as it name indicates, with a Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 and all-wheel drive and is set to be arriving at dealers now. This engine is optional on the Journey SE, SXT and Crossroad but it is standard on the Limited and R/T models.
It also gets a best-in-class 283 horsepower along with 260 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2014 Dodge Journey SE V-6 AWD is rated at up to 24 MPG in highway driving with front-wheel drive Jouneys getting a little extra with 25 MPG highway. Standard features include 17″ wheels, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and Electronic Stability Control, seven airbags, 4.3″ touchscreen with Uconnect Media Center, keyless entry, push-button start, power windows and door locks, power heated mirrors, remote keyless entry, tilt-and-telescoping steering column, cruise control, deep-tint sunscreen glass and black side roof rails.
The all-wheel drive system in the 2014 Dodge Journey SE V-6 AWD is on-demand, using only the front wheels unless needed in order to maximize fuel efficiency. It also comes on automatically on dry pavement between speeds of 25-65 to help with performance.
