The 2015 Nissan Murano Makes Its New York Auto Show Debut

Murano 15 NYC 1
Fresh from heavy restyling and re-engineering, the 2015 Nissan Murano makes its debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show. Stretched 2.5-inches, the 2015 Nissan Murano has more rear legroom (2.5-inches), four-cubic feet of additional cargo space and it weighs about 130-lbs less than the previous model.

Despite having the same 260 horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 240 lbs-feet of torque as the old model, Nissan claims an increase of 20% in fuel efficiency. Both the engine and the continuously variable transmission (CVT) have been updated to be more efficient. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional on the 2015 Nissan Murano.

The exterior has been updated looking a bit risqué for the timid and hints at a new look for the entire Nissan line of cars. “We want to go back to the wow factor,” said Pierre Loing, vice president of product planning for Nissan North America. “What we’ve tried to combine is the look of a show car’s exterior with plenty of interior refinement.”

The exterior is said to be one of the most aerodynamic in its class.

Other updates for the 2015 Nissan Murano include a much more luxurious and contemporary interior. All of the standard upgrades are bolstered by items like the Bird’s-eye camera system, eight-inch info screen, automatic collision braking and LED headlights.
