Harley-Davidson LiveWire: Are You Ready For An Electric Harley?

Harley-Davidson Livewire

Harley-Davidson, an old-school motorcycle manufacturer if ever there was one, has just gone very new-school with the introduction of the Harley-Davidson LiveWire electric motorcycle.

This isn’t in production, yet, but is a bit of an experiment to see what consumers think of an electric Harley. The Project LiveWire Experience is a dealer demo tour that will making its way across the United States this year before moving on to Europe and Canada in 2015. People will be able to take the bike for a ride and then provide feedback which will be used to help decide if the Harley-Davidson LiveWire becomes a production vehicle.

Details are sparse on the new electric Harley, but one of the most obvious questions is, “What’s it sound like?” and is it a sound that motorcycle enthusiasts are going to like? Until you get a chance to ride and hear it for yourself, there is a teaser that gives you a glimpse of the Harley-Davidson LiveWire zipping down the road with a very interesting engine note. It’s definitely not a rumble and it would likely make the neighbors happy if you start it up early on a Saturday morning, but Harely enthusiasts? That may be another story.

Take a look and a listen to the teaser trailer and let us know what you think. Would you buy an electric Harley?
