Optimus Prime Can Give You a Ride Thanks to Uber [Transformers Age of Extinction]

Optimus Prime

Transformers Age of Extinction is set to hit theaters on June 27th and with filming complete, it looks like Optimus Prime is out to make a few extra bucks working with Uber.

Ridesharing service Uber is now offering customers the opportunity to choose Optimus Prime in the guise of the custom Western Star semi that will be his final form by the end of Transformers Age of Extinction. Can you just image having that roll up to give you a ride? I know, it’s enough to make you seriously consider just not using your car and giving Uber a try instead.

The trick to all this is that Optimus Prime’s time with Uber is very limited and is only happening in three cities. After debuting in Dallas, he’ll be in Phoenix, Arizona tomorrow from 1pm to 7pm and then in Los Angeles, California on the 21st, also from 1pm to 7pm. If you happen to live in one of those cities, you can hail Optimus by simply selecting the Autobots option on the Uber app. Once you set your pick-up location, you tap Roll Out and, if you’re lucky, you’ll see Optimus in about 15-minutes.

There’s no guarantee that he’ll show up, likely because saving the world keeps the guy pretty busy, so you may have to try more than once to actually get him to appear. He’s only one Autobot so he’s doing his best. You can take solace in the fact that if you don’t manage to hail Optimus, you can still see him in Transformers Age of Extinction later this month.
