The next generation 2016 Mazda Miata is set to debut to a worldwide audience on September 3rd, but in the meantime we have a race track review of the 2014 Mazda Miata MX-5 doing some hot laps. The current Mazda Miata has a 2-liter I-4 with 168 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. Yes, you can get an automatic, but you lose 9 horsepower and, even worse, a lot of what makes the Miata so much fun.

See that kind of time the 2014 Mazda Miata can post on the track, and find out if it manages to best the Scion FR-S or gets left in the dust.

Thanks to IMI Motorsports Complex for providing the race track.
