Is there such a thing as enough horsepower? No. The folks at Land Rover are raising the bar with the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR, the most powerful Range Rover ever. The supercharged 5.0L V8 chucks out 550 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque in the SVR trim. This special model is a product of Land Rover’s newly formed Special Operations division. This SVR is just the first of many performance tuned vehicles from Land Rover and Jaguar.

The Range Rover Sport SVR will go up against testosterone laden SUVs like the: BMW X5M, Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. The SVR has the numbers to fight with this group. 0-60 mph is dispatched in 4.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 162 mph. The Porsche Cayenne is still quicker off the line, but Land Rover spent extra time on suspension tuning and tested the off-roader on the twists and turns of the Nurburgring.

You can start placing your SVR order in October 2014 with deliveries arriving in early 2015. The 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR will have a starting price of $110,475.

Are these spy images of the early SVR prototype or some other version? This mule does not have the deep front lower fascia nor the quad exhausts. If you have any other ideas on this Range Rover this is, let us know in the comments below.
