Ford Begins Testing of Right Hand Drive 2015 Mustang

RHD 2015 Mustang

During the unveiling of the 2015 Ford Mustang last December, Ford made it clear that they planned on taking the car global. The problem is, there are countries in the world that drive on the left side (or as we Americans call it, the wrong side) of the road. To facilitate sales in those countries, Ford needs to develop a 2015 Mustang that is right hand drive. They have built the car and are testing it as we speak.

This would be the first time the Mustang has been officially built and sold in right hand drive trim. That hasn’t stopped people from importing them in the past, but with Ford officially getting on board for a global Mustang, people in some parts of the world will have access to a pony car that they only could dream about before. It’s also a smart move for Ford; if they can sell more Mustangs they’ll make more money. The right hand drive versions will be built alongside the others at the Flat Rock, Michigan assembly plant. Expect them to hit the streets later this year.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new 2015 Mustang.
