Toyota Camry does not show any signs of slowing down with strong sales of 39,888 units for the month of July 2014.  This was 10.3% better than the same month of last year.  The usual suspects of the mid-size segment stayed in the same order as before.  The top five all had a good month with the exception of the Nissan Altima, which declined -9.8% month-over-month.  Ford Fusion showed a great result with 16.7% growth.

The redesigned 2015 Hyundai Sonata is picking up sales momentum.  It grew 19.4% for the month and came within around 1,300 units of fourth place Fusion.  The Sonata is still far away in the year-to-date sales numbers, but Ford should watch this carefully.

Chevy Malibu had a good month, but dropped one spot to seventh behind Kia Optima.  The Optima was actually slightly down on sales, but still had enough to overtake the Malibu in July.

The other new generation sedans that did exceptionally well were the 2015 Chrysler 200 and 2015 Subaru Legacy.  The sales improvement reversed the decline of the Chrysler 200.  The Legacy grew the most for the month at 48.9%.
