2015 Volvo XC90

Volvo’s largest crossover is back as the fully redesigned 2015 Volvo XC90.  It is the first of many future Volvos to be built on top of company’s new Scalable Product Architecture.  There will be several models available, but the base T6 comes with 2.0L super-turbo with impressive 316 horsepower and feeding all wheels.  It will start at $48,900 and includes navigation and panoramic sunroof.

Volvo will offer 1,927 First Edition XC90s with unique details and badging.  The number stands for the year the company was founded.  These special edition models will be priced at $65,900 and you will be able to start ordering them on September 3, 2014.

The other big story in the T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid version of the new XC90.  It combines the gasoline and electric motors for a total of 400 horsepower, but still can carry seven people and their stuff.  Check out our other stories on Volvo’s new flagship.

Let us know in the comments what you think about the Scandinavian design and styling?

The XC90 will have to do battle with other luxury three-row crossovers such as the Acura MDX, Audi Q7, BMW X5, Infiniti QX60, and many others.  The initial look at the all-new XC90 suggests that it will give competitors a run for their money.  TFL cannot wait to get behind the wheel.
