2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat

You don’t have to feel guilty for having 707 horsepower from your 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. That’s because it just received an EPA highway rating of 22 MPG with configured with the 8-speed automatic transmission. The gear ratios of the automatic are well suited for the big 6.2L Supercharged HEMI V8, as it nearly idles at highway speeds.

If you select the 6-speed manual transmission, that Hellcat will do nearly as well at 21 MPG on the highway. You have 650 lb-ft of torque on tap, so cruising in 6th gear is not much of an issue.

This result is inline with the nearest competitor – 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. The Shelby has a 5.8L Supercharged V8 with 662 horsepower and is EPA rated at 15 MPG city, 24 MPG highway, and 18 MPG combined.
