What are the Top 4 fastest cars around the TFL test track? Look no further – here they are!

4. 2014 Audi S4

The 2014 Audi S4 is nearing the end of its lifecycle, and the next-generation car is coming up on the horizon. This does not mean that the current S4 is a slow poke. It’s actually the fourth fastest car we tested this year. The best 0-60 MPH registered at 5.53 seconds at a little over one mile of elevation. Smooth power delivery and great brakes helped the S4 clock in at 1:10.64 on the lap around TFL test track (IMI Motorsports) with Nathan at the wheel. It was the lap record, until the next cars came along.

3. 2015 BMW i8

The current IndyCar Honda Powered racer – Justin Wilson – joined TFL test sessions with the 2015 BMW i8 gas-electric plug-in hybrid. This was a great opportunity what a proper racing driving can do with a high-performance car around the test track. The proof was on the stop watch. Justin clocked in at 1:06.98. This is nearly four seconds quicker than we could manage in the Audi S4.

2. 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe R

It’s not easy to find a car with the visual appeal and incredible sound from that 5.0L Supercharged V8 than the 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe R. Justin Wilson jumped back in for another lap. Turns out that the residual traction control in the Dynamic mode was still slowing Justin down. The answer – turn the traction control completely off and go again. The result was awesome. Justin improved around three seconds for a new lap record of 1:04.45.

1. 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

The Coupe R was great, but the 2015 model had rear-wheel-drive only. All-wheel-drive can put the power down better. Jaguar engineers have added AWD to the 2016 Jaguar F-Type Coupe R and we cannot wait to test it. However, this AWD Porsche 911 Turbo – Justin’s personal car – was able to better the Jaguar. The result was a fun and blindingly quick 1:03.68.
