Buick surprised most of us tonight at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show by revealing the Buick Avenir concept, and it’s gorgeous.  Developed as a collaboration between General Motors in the Unites States and Australia, the Buick Avenir is the company’s vision for a future flagship sedan.

Watch below as the Buick Avenir concept debuts alongside the 2016 Buick Cascada at the 2015 Detroit International Auto Show (NAIAS2015).

The Aussies took the lead on the Avenir’s exterior, taking cues from the 1971-73 Buick Riviera. The interior was designed in the US.

If it goes into production, expect a V-6 under the hood, and a 9-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels.  That’s right. Real wheel drive.

This sleek concept would help Buick shed its’ “The People That Make Cars For Your Great Aunt Mabel” image. Let’s hope we see the Buick Avenir in production soon. – Emme Hall
