The Honda FCV (Fuel Cell Vehicle) concept has made its debut this morning at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS 2015).  The second generation of Honda’s fuel-cell vehicles offers advances in real-world drivability and performance, including a proposed range of more than 300 miles and refueling capability within three minutes.

Additionally, the Honda FCV’s fuel cell stack fits completely in the front engine compartment.  The new stack provides a 60-percent increase and power and 33-percent reduction in unit size when compared with its predecessor.

Honda says they realize that hydrogen refueling infrastructure is limited and, accordingly, has winvested $14 million towards accelerating the development of refueling stations in California.    Honda has also committed to producing a new Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) by 2018.

The Honda FCV will launch in Japan, Europe, and the US in 2016, and is claimed to be the first in a generation of advanced Honda technology vehicles.
