The Jaguar F-PACE may be an odd name for a sports luxury crossover, but it makes sense for Jaguar to go in this direction. The company knows how to combine a good looking design with superb performance (see the F-Type). The F-PACE crossover is planned to go on sale as a 2017 model. It will share engines and drive-train components with other Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. For example, it will use the AWD/4×4 system also used in the Range Rover Sport (seen testing alongside). The 3.0L supercharged V6 will also find its way into the F-Pace.

The production F-PACE is inspired by the C-X17 concept shown here.

We may catch a lot more of the new crossover at an upcoming auto show. Stay tuned as we search for more details.
