The VW C Coupe GTE is the next vehicle in the series of concepts that show a glimpse at the future of Volkswagen vehicles. The C Coupe Concept shows the possible future of VW’s large C-segment sedans. Perhaps, the next Passat will get more technology and design features like this?

The C Coupe GTE is built on the MLB architecture. This is the Modular Longitudinal martix that also underpins the current Audi A4 through the A8 among many others. This differentiates it from the Sport Coupe Concept GTE that was shown last month in Geneva. The Sport Coupe is build on the transverse MQB architecture.

This four-door coupe stretches 199.7 inches in overall length and has a stance that is 76.0 inches wide. The wheel-base is a longish 118.7 inches for additional space and comfort on the interior.

The C Coupe GTE is a plug-in hybrid and combines a four-cylinder TSI gasoline engine, an electric motor that is combined with the 8-speed automatic transmission, and a 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The TSI engine provides 210 PS. The electric motor adds 124 PS for a combined rating of 245 PS and 369 lb-ft of torque. The car allows for 31 miles of electric only driving and is able to propel the sedan (or is it a coupe?) to 81 mpg on electricity.
