How does the all-new 2016 Honda Pilot differ from its predecessor? The data is in.

It’s more powerful. The updated 3.5L V6 now makes 280 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. There are two transmission choices: the 6-speed automatic and the push-button 9-speed automatic. More gears also enables the large crossover to be more efficient. It’s rated at 20 MPG in the city, 27 MPG on the highway, and 22 MPG combined.

The 2WD LX model with the 6-speed automatic starts at $29,995 (or $125 more than the starting price of the 2015 Pilot).  All prices are quoted before the $880 destination charge. The 4WD LX model starts at $31,795. If you load it up with all the options, the Pilot Elite model with Navigation will retail for $46,420.

The new pilot is also bigger (3.5 inches longer) for improved cabin layout and cargo carrying capacity. In short, Honda has worked on all areas. They made the crossover roomier, more powerful, and more efficient. It does come with a small price increase, but you are getting a lot of vehicle and a lot of engineering for the money.
