David Brown Automotive Speedback GT to Debut at Pebble Beach 2015

DavidBrown_Speedback_10Conceived as a tribute to the world-famous Aston-Martin DB5, the David Brown Automotive Speedback GT has been on sale in the British market since last year. Sources now indicate that the company will unveil the Speedback GT for the American market at this year’s Pebble Beach Week in early August.

Sharing a chassis and running gear with the Jaguar XKR, the Speedback GT hides a 510 horsepower 5.0-liter supercharged V8 under its sumptuous hood. Torque is rated at 461 lb.-ft., all of which is routed through a 6-speed automatic transmission to produce 0-60 times in the 4.6-second range and a top speed of 155 mph.

The entire vehicle is hand-built and bespoke, and despite its Jaguar underpinnings, looks and performs in an entirely unique fashion.

The Speedback GT will be officially unveiled on August 14th, 2015 at The Quail on the Monterey peninsula, one of the most storied motorsports gatherings of Pebble Beach Week. Before then, the Speedback GT will make an appearance at the Quail Rally Welcome Reception on August 10, after which it will participate in the Rally during August 11-12th.

CEO David Brown remarked, “It’s been a fantastic year for Speedback GT since its launch. Having had such a warm reception at a number of world-leading shows in Europe, it is a natural progression to bring the car to an American audience, where we’re sure there will be plenty of fans.”

The Speedback GT will retail for approximately $753,000, with each vehicle made to order.
