2016 Nissan Maxima

The all-new Nissan Maxima is coming on sale this summer. It will be available in five grades, from the $32,410 S model to the top-of-the-line $39,860 Platinum model. It has the 3.5-liter V6 engine with 300 horsepower. It’s backed by a CVT that sends the power to the front wheels. Nissan maintains that the new Maxima is the 4 Door Sports Car (4DSC). The driving impressions are embargoed until early June, so we cannot talk about the driving experience. However, we can show the car moving and discuss the design and features.

Nissan simplified the selection process with just five grade and no options. The base S model comes standard with a navigation system with eight-inch screen and remote start. The next level, SV, adds heated leather seats and a sonar system, and the SL model adds a panoramic sunroof and all of Nissan’s available safety technology, including intelligent cruise control and lane departure warnings. For enthusiasts, the $37,670 SR model adds stiffer suspension with a front strut to dampen chassis vibration and intelligent dynamics control to level out the ride. The Platinum model adds a power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, driver attention alert, and quilted leather on the seats.
