The oddly-named Bentley Bentayga SUV is inching ever closer to its official debut. This Bentley Bentayga prototype was caught stuck in Denver traffic. It’s wearing light camouflage that still aims to confuse.
There are stickers over the headlights that pretend to be those from a Range Rover. The taillights are shrouded with Mercedes-Benz GL-class looking camouflage. It looks like Bentley is telling us that the Bentayga will compete with the Range Rover and the Mercedes GL.
What is under the hood? The Bentayga will share some components with the next generation Audi Q7, but the huge oval exhaust tips may point to the a turbocharged W12 or V8 engines. Bentley’s first SUV may also utilize a plug-in hybrid powertrain as an option.
There is a shot of the Bentayga next to an older Volvo XC90. The Bentley appears a bit wider but not any longer or taller than other crossovers or SUVs on the highway.
The 2015 LA Auto Show may be the right place to unveil the Bentayga.
The Bentayga prototype front-end looks a lot the current Bentley Continental. Here the W12 Continental GT Speed Convertible going topless on ice.
